Sorry for the volume of e-mails this week but I’ve have had almost no response in regards to the Sevens Tournament this Sunday, which is a little frustrating to say the least.

It will be a tough tournament and we need to go with a strong and full squad, which at present we are no where near.

If we cannot assemble a decent squad by lunch time Wednesday then we will have to withdraw from the tournament at some expense to the club.

So can you please reply to me by Wednesday lunch time, it’s not hard to simply hit reply and say yes or no.

Also please don’t forget to get your reply in concerning the 90th Celebrations on the 8th June.

thanks

Graeme

2. Chris Luijkx Memorial Game

3. Buffet Reception to be held at La Peniche Equité

Sunday June 9: Farewell brunch

The Chris Luijkx Memorial Game in honour of ex-club captain will start at approx 15:00, with a BRFC Presidents 15 vs a BRFC Captains 15 followed by post game drinks before heading to the wonderful La Peniche Equité (http://www.bateau-paris.com) for the evenings reception, buffet and dancing.

The pricing for the Saturday will be split into three separate packages:

Many thanks to those who have already expressed their interest for what is going to be a fantastic weekend. We have people travelling from all over Europe, but we need more people to truly make this a memorable occasion and both honour this great club and help raise money for Cancer Research.

So please register your attendance for the celebrations, by replying to this e-mail, please also indicate which package you would be interested in, to Graeme Forbes or Nico Dolo at this e-mail address: brfcparis90th@gmail.com or by replying to this e-mail.

Chaps,

a couple of things going on this week and we need quick replies as to who’s interested.

SEVENS:

Next Sunday 19th May, we will be playing in a sevens tournament.

The tournament will be held at RUE DES PEUPLIERS 78440 GARGENVILLE.

This is a rare opportunity for us to mix it with the non-corpo teams, and feeds into the national Sevens program – so It’s a very high profile tournament and we need to go prepared, ideally we need to field as strong a squad as possible, and need to take around 12 people.

Training and Touch

We’ll be having a training session on Monday evening at Stade Max Roussie 28 rue Andre Brechet 75017 Paris (for those that remember it this is the SCUF astro turf pitch).

Past this, as Invalides is now so dangerously unplayable we will play touch rugby on the same pitch on Monday evenings until around July. There are a couple of other sevens tournaments so we’ll also double it up for 7′s training when necessary.

With all that in mind can you let me know if you can: A – play in the sevens tournament next sunday, and B – make training on Monday evening. We may do a second training later int he week if needs be.

please respond quickly guys,

many thanks

Graeme

Lads,

This Sunday is set to be a big day for our host club Stade Domontois. After winning the away leg of their 1/16th final 32-10 against Epernay last weekend, they will more than likely get promoted to Federale 2 this Sunday as they play the return leg at Domont.

Over the last couple of years Domont has been very good to the BRFC with a lot of work going on behind the scenes every week to ensure that we have the best facilities by far in our league.

Therefore, this is a call for support. If you are available in anyway to help out at Domont this Sunday, be it behind the bar or whatever, your support would be much appreciated by the management of Stade Domontois and also BRFC.

Kick off will be at 15h but if possible people will be needed from about 13h to help set the clubhouse up etc. So if you are available please comfirm to either me or Nico (nicdolo@free.fr) by email.

Thanks in advance for your help and support

Dear Friends,

Much to our pride, three BRFC players were selected in last weekend’s “Rugby d’Entreprise” tournament that had the Ile de France Selection face three other regional selections in Blagnac, near Toulouse.

The Selection won its first game versus “Val de Loire” but came a tad short in its second game versus “Aquitaine”, losing only in the very last minute to a penalty kick many present thought undeserved.

Their third and final game saw the IDF Selection lose to a local Toulouse-region side which displayed its usual fair-play by mostly lining up Federale 2-level players.

Overall, our players shined, and we are anxiously awaiting the National Selection’s list. Wit a bit of luck, one or several of our boys will wear some “Bleu Blanc Rouge” in the upcoming weeks.

Well done Joe Bough, Liam Isaac and Jeremy Lamri!

All,

quick confirmation that Touch Rugby at Invalides tonight is on. Howevere we’ve had a lot of people come back askign for it to be earlier, so we’ll start around 7pm – if you can’t arrive at 7 then just get there for 7.30. We’ll be on the far right if you turn your back to the river – please bring some water with you.

Also the game against Portsmouth Vets, on Saturday followed by the BBQ is on – thanks to everyone who has confirmed their attendance so far, but we really do need more players – ESPECIALLY OLD BOYS.

If you can jog out on Saturday, but haven’t responded yet then please let me know – we’ll circulate details on Friday but kick off should be around 3pm, with the BBQ straight after. Even if you can’t play you are welcome to attend the BBQ (just let us know for numbers).

many thanks

dissapointing result on Saturday but it was a seriously fantastic game of Rugby.

Sadly we think that may now be it for official competitions this season. But with not wanting to finish on that note, we have a chance this Saturday to blow the dissapointment away with a freindly match against Portsmouth Vets and the potential of a second game against a visiting from London (this game will only go ahead if we get enough people for two teams).

With the Vets game we’d be keen to field as many old boys as possible alongside current players so if you are a BRFC old boy and free, do say so and have a jog out for the Club.

Before that though we will be playing touch rugby at invalides on Wednesday, starting around 7.30pm – again all are welcome.

Lastly, post game on Saturday, would be people be interested in a BBQ it would be around 10€ per person including a pint, and obviously friends, spectators are more than welcome .

So please reply to me indicating:

- if you will be playing touch on Wednesday (we will confirm wednesday morning)

- if you are available to play in either of the freindlies on Saturday at Domont.

- if you are keen on a BBQ post game at Domont.

Many thanks

Graeme
