Chaps,
As was mentioned in Manny’s e-mail last week there is a Touch rugby tournament being played on the 17th May,and BRFC is entering a team.
Competitive touch in France is a little different to how we play it at Invalides, or indeed how everyone else plays touch, there is a little more structure and some quite specific rules unique to France, so we do need to do a little bit of training just to get used to this.
We’re planning to have our first session on Sunday afternoon, it will be short, sharp and nothing strenuous, just a run through for an hour or so playing touch under the different rules, after that we’ll keep it to the normal touch sessions on Tuesdays/Thursday and use that to get us competitive.
It should be great fun and with the caliber of players the club has there is no reason why we cannot go there with a strong team and give a very good account of ourselves. It is good to play some competitive rugby, and it’s a great profile raiser for the club as we’ll be mixing it with clubs from outside the Club Du Samdei teams.
So can you please reply to me confirming if you will a: be there on Sunday and b; if you are keen to play in the tournament on the 17th of May – my e-mail is graeme @ interestingblends . com – and i will confirm the details on Friday.
Cheers
Graeme
