Gents,
Many thanks to an impressive turn out at last night’s AGM, and the constructive feedback and discussions that followed.
First of all I would like to congratulate the winners of this season’s Club prizes:
Charlie Hall -Player of the Year;
Sélim Izrar – Most Improved of the Year;
Guillaume Pellan and Ollie Mead-Briggs -Newcomers of the Year;
Tim Laurence – Clubman of the Year
Well done to all!
I would also like to announce the results of the committee elections and the new Committee members for the 2012-2013 season, to be led by the new BRFC President Nicolas Dolo.
1. President: Nicolas Dolo
2: Treasurer: Brian Dodson
3: Club Manager: Tim Laurence
4: Vice-Club Manager: Tom Bentley
5: Social Secretary: Ollie Mead-Briggs
6. Communications Manager: Ben Darras
I wish them all the best for next season, and am sure they will lead the BRFC to even greater successes.
This together with the AGM report will be my last communication as BRFC President. As I step down, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all club members over the past four years for their contributions to the club and for making it what it is today. In particular I would thank all Committee Members who have put in their time to make the club run smoothly.
I would also like to share two moments which I particularly hold dear. The first was the 2009 Christmas Ball I attended at Christophe’s Restaurant: a grand affair, with many BRFC old boys present and a tradition I hope will be maintained by the club. Secondly, last year’s decisive game against the PUC in Somme like conditions in which I scored my first and only try for the BRFC (Nick maintains I ripped the ball out of his hands – I can assure you he was held up and not going anywhere!). I joined the club in the year we were relegated to the second division (although socially we had a great time), and I am content that I step down as President with the club promoted and maintaining its position in the first division with even greater things to come!
Lastly, but most importantly, I would like to thank my wife Leonor for agreeing to me spending so much time playing Rugby for the BRFC and her own time and efforts in organizing club events and acting as the BRFC Photographer, as well as the world’s best two supporters, Edward and Aleksander.
Good luck for the 2012-2013 season. You are the BRFC!
Cheers
Rob
