Hall of Fame 2012 & Old Boys Game

by Nicolas Dolo on Thursday, June 28th, 2012

Gentlemen,

BRFC and its Officers are happy to announce the creation of a BRFC Hall of Fame. Once every season, people who have remarkably demonstrated their commitment to the Club as players and officers in the past will be rewarded and join the annual promotion. Hall of Fame members are life members of the Club, and they are allowed, along with current Club Officers, to submit names for future promotions of the Hall of Fame to the Committee. We will dedicate a new section of our web site to the Hall of Fame, a section that should  include a short BRFC-related biography for each of its members.

The 2012 Hall of Fame Inductees will be presented with their awards after the BRFC Barbarians vs BSP Old Boys game scheduled this Saturday. They are (in alphabetical order):

  • Thomas BEYNON
  • Julian CROOME
  • Guy GRUNDY
  • Eudes LE GARS
  • John LLOYD
  • Quentin MARTIN
  • Darren SIMPSON
  • Richard URQUHART

On another note, I wanted to make sure you have all the details regarding the Old Boys/Derek Lewis Trophy Game this Saturday and the festivities of the day:

1. Game

Meeting point for the players is 13:30 at RER Station Le Vésinet Centre or 14:00 at the Stadium (Parc Omnisports de Croissy sur Seine – Chemin de Ronde – 78290 Croissy sur Seine). The game is to start no later than 15:00. As this is a gala game, no licenses are required and all welcome to play, even for a few minutes.

2. Post-Game Reception

We will hold a reception after the game next to the pitch with all the game’s participants and their guests. Derek should be so kind as to hand out the Hall of Fame 2012 trophies, along with the Player of the Year Award, still awaiting to be given to our friend Charlie Hall.

3. Barbecue in Paris

We will gather 32 rue des Amandiers, 75020 Paris (Metro Père Lachaise) from 20:00 to 23:30 for a rooftop barbecue and some live music with our resident band (The Revies). Note that you will be granted access ONLY IF YOUR NAME IS ON THE LIST. If you haven’t done so already, please let Ollie know that you are coming (oliver.meadbriggs@gmail.com). You do not have to bring anything to the party, except a bit of money (cash or checks) to cover for the costs of both food and drinks (likely to be around 20 euros a head). If you said you’d come, then please keep your word.

4. Mezzanine Party at La Quille

After the BBQ, we will head to “La Quille”, a fun and nearby bowling alley (métro Parmentier) – 111 rue Saint Maur, 75011 Paris. The Mezzanine part of the place is to be privatised for the club.

I hope to see as many of you & your guests as possible this Saturday.

Cheers,

Nico
